I think this was from the year 2000. I just started getting that teenage urge to make music. I actually would think of melodies in my head, then (because I didn’t have anything to make music with) put those melodies on paper with words that best described the sound I heard (“dum”, “ting”, “blewm”).
When I did get music software I decided my production name would be InstraMental. And I would have “InstraMental Productions”. The logo I sketched onto a manila folder was (I believe) a brain with headphones on it.
My early music was shit. But as I got better (and older) I realized that the name was pretty corny. But somewhere there is an email address that sits dormant, with a password that its creator can’t even remember. And a manila folder sits in a box, where it will one day be shown to grandchildren who will make fun of the logo and idea behind the dreams of a 13 year old.
